Membership

Qualifications

Membership is open to interested applicants after they have attended at least 2 general meetings. After Board approval of the application and payment of fees and dues the new member is introduced at the next general meeting they attend.

Benefits

Membership benefits include a monthly newsletter subscription; use of society's shop tools, with appropriate instruction and supervision; educational programs at monthly meetings; field trip participation; lapidary arts classes; access to the society's library of books, DVD's and Video tapes; exchange of information regarding lapidary arts from a community of enthusiasts. These benefits are subject to temporary unavailability during the current circumstances.

Annual dues

Dues are due in November for the following year. Membership fees currently are $27.50 for adults, $17.50 for each additional adult in the household, $5 (each) for youth (ages 10-18) or children (ages 4-9). New members pay an additional $15 initiation fee per person. Late joining new members may have lower dues as they are prorated after mid-year. All applicants must complete a Liability Waiver.

The success of the overall program is dependant upon participation by all members. Members are encouraged to participate in as many of the activities and events as they are able and to assist with society leadership responsibilities.

 

Society chairmanships or offices are open to all active adult members who meet the requirements.
